Through the Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma of Nursing: Perioperative, we offer a one-year program for registered nurses wanting to undertake postgraduate studies in perioperative nursing.
Mercy Hospital Women facilitates the clinical component of this 12-month course, in conjunction with Deakin University.
Successful applicants will rotate through all areas of the perioperative environment, including the instrumentation and circulating role, and anaesthetic and recovery roles.
Students are employed for a minimum of 24 hours a week (by negotiation based on previous perioperative experience) to a maximum of 36 hours a week. The program starts in February and runs for a period of 12 months.

Mercy Hospital for Women perioperative services offers experience in gynaecology, urogynaecology, gynae-oncology, reproductive medicine, endosurgery, obstetrics, anaesthetics, post-anaesthetic and day surgery nursing that complements theoretical education.
