Graduate Certificate of Critical Care Nursing

The Graduate Certificate of Critical Care Nursing, provided by Deakin University, is designed for registered nurses wanting to undertake postgraduate studies in the Intensive Care Unit. This course provides registered nurses with the opportunity to apply theory to practice.

Werribee Mercy Hospital is a clinical partner with Deakin University, providing part-time employment to students while undertaking postgraduate studies with Deakin University.

The Learning Team provides both mentorship and clinical support to optimise completion of clinical competency assessments. For more information about the course, please visit Deakin University’s website.

 

Department Information

We welcome applications from both internal and external candidates. The number of positions each year is determined by EFT capability.

How to apply

Applications for postgraduate opportunities opens in September with further mid-year intake opportunities available.

Applicants will be required to apply via the Mercy Health careers website along with the supporting documents listed below.

To apply for the Graduate Certificate of Critical Care Nursing, you are required to have:

  • a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent qualification) in the discipline of nursing
  • a current unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency as a Division 1 Registered Nurse
  • references

Mercy Health will assess your application and if eligible, Mercy Health will support nomination to Deakin University. You will then submit your enrolment to Deakin University.
