Overview
Dietitians have specialist knowledge of nutrition in a wide range of clinical areas including pregnancy, paediatrics, general medical and surgical, rehabilitation, mental health, oncology and palliative care.
For inpatients:
- dietitians assess and provide dietary education for a wide variety of clinical conditions
- dietitians work closely with food services to ensure you are provided with meals that are suitable for your dietary requirements.
For outpatients, dietitians provide:
- a service to maternity patients, including those with gestational diabetes
- a service to paediatric patients that have had a stay in the special care nursery at Werribee.

Location details
Dietetic outpatient services are located in the main hospital or the Outpatient Clinics building. Outpatient Clinics (antenatal and medical/surgical clinics) are located in the small stand-alone building facing the Princes Highway next to Car Park 5 (P5).

What to bring
For inpatients:
- let nursing staff know of any allergies or special dietary requirements you may have
- provide a list of any vitamins you are taking
- provide a list of any oral nutrition supplement drinks you are taking.
For outpatients:
- bring your appointment letter with you if you have one.
