Perinatal mental health seminar

This 90-minute seminar will provide primary healthcare, maternity care and mental healthcare providers with a comprehensive update on the latest research and clinical issues relating to diagnosing, prescribing and coordinating health services in the perinatal period.

The information presented in the seminar will relate specifically to Melbourne’s west and Victoria’s greater western region.

Allocated 3 (category 2) points in the RACGP QI&CPD program for the 2017-19 triennium.

  • From screening to service (Dr Rowena Sycamnias, Mother Baby Unit Outpatients Werribee Mercy Hospital, Consultant Psychiatrist)
  • Perinatal Mental Health — not just pregnancy and breastfeeding (Dr Kristine Mercuri, Mother Baby Unit Outpatients Werribee Mercy Hospital, Consultant Psychiatrist)
  • Case study — community-based care and support (Mother Baby Services Registrar)

The seminar will end with a panel discussion on Raising babies and raising questions facilitated by Mercy Hospital for Women Perinatal Mental Health Deputy Clinical Services Director Dr Gaynor Blankley.
