Overview
Referral to Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) service is through your treating mental health clinician. This may be your GP, and or private psychiatrist. Residents stay within the service between two and four weeks. During your time in PARC, you will receive treatment and participate in psychosocial rehabilitation programs to help you recover.

- your Medicare Card
- your Health Care card
- medicines and/or a list of medicines
- personal items including clothes and toiletries.

Team Composition
Throughout your experience, you may be supported by:
- CoHealth mental health support staff
- psychiatric medical officer
- consultant psychiatrist
- registered psychiatric nurse.
For health professionals
The Prevention and Recovery Care unit is a residential service providing short term recovery support and treatment for people in need of more supportive mental health care. Referral to Prevention and Recovery Care is through the patient’s treating mental health clinician. Residents stay within the service between two and four weeks.
Located in Deer Park, Prevention and Recovery Care is a program run in partnership with CoHealth to support people and prevent the worsening of their illness and the need for hospital admission. It also supports people leaving a mental health hospital unit and assists them to return to community living.
