Overview
This class is run by a physiotherapist. It covers information and advice to help you return to a healthy lifestyle after the birth of your child. It also helps to prevent and manage common complications after birth such as incontinence, constipation, back pain and stomach muscle separation. There is discussion on good bladder and bowel habits, postural care and safe return to exercise, as well as demonstrations on back stretches, pelvic floor muscle exercises and abdominal exercises.

Location details
You can find the physiotherapy postnatal class by going to the Maternity Ward (D2), lounge area (outside Rooms 20–23).
On-site signage and indicators
Look for the Physiotherapy Postnatal Class, Pink A4 (in in-patient rooms on Postnatal Ward) signs on-site.
How can people get access?
No bookings are required.
Outpatients may attend any session by presenting to maternity services reception to gain access to the ward.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 10am
If coming in from home after discharge please call Allied Health Reception before attending to make sure the class is proceeding on the day.

Women self-elect to attend the class. They may attend with or without their baby or partners.
