Overview
A full class series, whether delivered online, in face-to-face workshops or hybrid (a combination of online and face-to-face), all cover the same information.
The content includes: labour and birth, labour and birth variations, understanding breastfeeding and the new family at home
Parent education class series options:
- Hybrid: Series of four classes, two hours per week over four weeks. Class 1 and 4 are face-to-face in the hospital, Class 2 and 3 are online via Zoom.
- Workshops: Series of two classes, 4.5 hours each over two weeks. Both classes are face-to-face in the hospital.
- Online: Series of four classes, two hours per week over four weeks. All four classes are online via Zoom.
- Specialised: Individual sessions including Vaginal Birth After Caesarean (VBAC), multiple birth, labour refresher.
A copy of the book Preparing for Birth will be provided after booking and paying for a full series of classes.

What to do before
For face-to-face classes: Parent education is located on level 3. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to class starting. Surgical masks are required to be worn at all times in the hospital.
For online classes: Please ensure you have downloaded and trialed using the free Zoom app before class, on a computer or smart device. A Zoom link to access the online class is provided via your class confirmation email from TryBooking.
What to bring
Please have your copy of TryBooking receipt to show the staff at your first class.
What to expect on the day
Classes start and finish at the advertised times.
